The YDL-280 series water well drilling rig, including both the YDL-280D (electric motor) and YDL-280C (diesel engine) variants, is a state-of-the-art hydraulic crawler drilling rig engineered for efficient and versatile borehole construction. Designed to perform across a wide range of drilling applications, this rig excels in complex geology, harsh conditions, and diverse site requirements.
The rig supports a drilling depth of up to 280 meters and a hole diameter ranging from 150 to 350 mm, making it suitable for water well drilling, geothermal heating wells, dewatering holes, and foundation anchoring. Whether in hard rock, loose soil, or mixed formations, it ensures high penetration rates and reliable performance.
Its maximum rotary torque of 12,000 Nm, combined with a hydraulically driven power head and mechanical-hydraulic dual-speed control, enables operators to adapt to various drilling technologies such as:

The rig’s 3.4-meter power head stroke allows the use of 3-meter long drill rods in a single pass, improving operational efficiency and reducing non-productive time. The maximum lifting force of 19.6 tons supports casing extraction and deep borehole operations. The auto breakout system reduces operator effort and enhances safety during rod handling.
A 0.9-meter feed frame (thrust beam) mounted under the mast helps push the drilling platform directly to the borehole entrance and ensures precise positioning. The mast tilt angle of –5° to 90° supports vertical and inclined drilling.
Additionally, the telescopic buffer spindle protects drill rods by absorbing shock during collaring and reduces wear on the thread connection during breakout.
Equipped with a hydraulic chuck and rod holder, the rig simplifies make-and-break operations and increases time efficiency. The built-in guide system at the borehole collar further stabilizes the drill string and ensures precise, reliable drilling progress.
For added safety and convenience, the rig includes a 1.5-ton winch for handling tools and a platform-mounted hydraulic manipulator (optional) to aid inclined hole operations.
Mounted on a robust crawler chassis, the YDL-280 rig is easily relocated on rough terrain. Optional steel or engineering rubber tracks allow operation both off-road and in urban environments. The addition of four long-stroke hydraulic outriggers (1700 mm travel) enables the rig to self-load onto transport vehicles without cranes.
The rig’s hydraulic system uses top-tier domestic and imported components, ensuring long lifespan, stable performance, and low maintenance. Power can be configured to suit customer preferences:
